About Us

Albina is a non-profit agency that provides Early Head Start and Head Start services to children and families, ages birth through five. We continually focus on developing highly trained, caring and adequately compensated staff. We prioritize hiring from the communities we serve. We are committed to strengthening staff skills and encouraging their professional development. Our staff is key to quality services we provide neighborhoods. Albina Head Start uses the following steps prior to offering employment: Application screening, interview, Personnel Committee recommendation, Policy Council approval, reference check, and enrollment in State Criminal History Registry. All classroom staff must have current First Aid, CPR, and Food Handlers cards. Employees are required to have a Health exam and TB screening at time of hire, and every 4 years thereafter.
