Hi Dave - My dryer vent arrived last week and was installed over the weekend.The vent is absolutely fantastic and is so much better than anything else out there. It’s solid and the flapper stays closed when the dryer is off, which is awesome! I’ve attached a pic of the installed vent but I still need to prime/paint it.Thank you so much. Appreciate it!

Quality all the way! Bought two rotating wind caps for our 6" double wall insulated chimneys. The products I received were well made with 1st rate materials and craftsmanship. I did have a little issue with the fitment in my particular pipe, but working with it and Dave it was rectified for a first class installation. I really appreciate a quality US business offering good products and great customer service. LM will have any future business to fill my needs from their catalog. Highly recommend!

Took a chance and Ordered one because all the ones I could find in my area were flimsy or plastic, installed the galvanized model with windguard, screen and magnetic seal, this thing is worth the extra expense, drilled two holes in the upper corners and two between the spot welds on the bottom, no more banging in the wind, hopefully no more spiders with the magnetic seal

Wow Dave. i have recently installed the directional chimney cap and what a difference in not only no downdrafts on our woodstove but it seems that the stove is working more efficiently as well. Also it has virtually eliminated the sneezes and running noses from the downdraft soot. We are so pleased!

I can't comment on the products specifically, but if they half as good as the customer service, you won't be disappointed! I ordered a vent that I ended up finding out wouldn't fit and cancelling the order was quick and easy. Dave responded to my emails quickly and provided excellent customer service. I ordered one of the 8” S.S. vents. The Vent arrived yesterday and was built better than expected! Got it installed today with NO problems . Glad I spent the extra money and bought the Stainless Steel Vent. It’s no comparison to the Aluminum Vents on the market. Not one bit flimsy or easy to dent. Glad to see a company selling quality products these days. Also nice NOT to see made in China on the item!!

Our General Contactor had installed a standard external vent for our new microwave but at the slightest breeze a magnified bang was heard inside the house. Our GC tried adding weight but to no avail. After a web search I found Luxury Metals and was impressed with the vent design. We ordered a 6" magnetic Damper and screen (SDWVG 6WG MD) and it works perfectly. Our GC was also quite impressed. I am so glad that Luxury Metals makes these. The vent has been in now for 10 months and not one noise out of it.

The damper does not have a full, tight, weatherproof seal. The foam strips and magnets are in pieces with gaps between them. The top where the spring is has no weatherproofing strip at all. The whole damper does not sit tight/flush on the vent opening, but is rather bumped out further on top than on the bottom. This causes it to be at a slight angle on the opening from top to bottom and creates a gap. All these things will allow air to infiltrate, as well as bugs.

Best decision I ever made, no more cold air coming into dryer nor house, no wind noise, and my heating bill is lower as well.So now I am about to buy another one for a basement venting situation as well. The company that put that vent in installed one with plastic vanes that leak cold air back in and when I told the company about these, they have promised to install a new Luxury Metals Wind Defender vent - all I had to do was pay for the vent itself.Can you start making stainless steel chimney cleanouts too?

Returned a dryer duct with uneven taping and ordered one in the different color that arrived with gaps in taping. The quality control is not very good.These are defects I expect from a hardware store or supply shop but this is a premium product at a premium price. Not sure who's doing the taping but taping the full bottom, avoiding overlap and height difference, and aligning the tape would be the most effective way to seal the duct.

This has made a huge difference in the way our stove performs and we haven't had any smoke blow back with our windy days and nights. The ONLY problem has been the bird screen gets clogged with creosote and the carbon monoxide sensor goes off in the house. We have to clean this every 5-7 days or it makes the sensor go off. Thankfully, we have an underground home so we don't have to lug a 30' ladder out each week....but this is a problem and had I known it would be, would not have ordered the cap with a bird screen. The next time it is clogged I will take a picture to send. To blasted cold today! -4 for a high!

Sorry for the issues with the screen! Its a spark screen and some states like California require it by law. It is a problem if you burn a lot of sticky soft wood like pine or fir. You can take wire cutters and clip it out and you will not have that problem anymore! Thanks for the note.

Hi Dave – Just a brief update to inform you that the Wind Directional Chimney Cap I purchased from you has improved the burning efficiency of my airtight stove by not less than 30% as a "best guess". The stove starts more easily, burns more efficiently and burns more completely (i.e. no left over charcoal debris by morning) than it ever has! Also, I particularly appreciated your willingness to provide me with a much wider storm caller to accommodate our typically heavy snow load at no additional cost. very well built,had to trim the pipe adapter to get it to fit inside my supervent pipe but no big deal,easy to install,this wind directional cap allows my chimney to draft like a rocket and so far no smoke in the house at all,not evan a puff when the feed door is opened,or when starting a fire,was having a problem with down draft with a strong east to south east wind haven't had one yet to see if it has completely cured my downdraft issues, but since installing this rain cap my chimney has never drafted this well,thanks again for the great product and fast shipping

Ordered powder coated log end post caps. There was no delay in shipping despite customs, they were well-packaged and arrived within a much shorter time line than I would have expected. Even with the CDN-USD exchange rate, they were an excellent value and look amazing!!

Luxury Metals is just AMAZING with customer service. I rarely ever leave reviews, but after working with Dave, I just had to. I was selling a property and the inspection came back and said I needed a directional wind cap for the vent on my instant hot water heater. With a very tight deadline to complete the work, I contacted Dave and he got the part overnighted to me. Unfortunately, when I ordered it, I did not measure for the size -I just used the hot water heater's product literature, so the cap didn't fit! I contacted Dave and even though the part was out of stock, he had it fabricated and sent to me in less than 2 days! Amazing! I wish all companies had customer service like this -and if I ever need to order something like this again there is no one else I will ever use.

WHAT A FIND! The prices may seem a bit much for "just a dryer vent" when compared to that of big box stores, but they are AWESOMELY much better. We no longer have the ticking noise when the wind blows; the laundry rm doesn't feel drafty anymore, & the floor isn't s cold. I highly recommend this product; just can'y say enough good things about it.

Found Luxury Metals when search for a venting solution for my portable air conditioner. Very difficult to find a quality solution to having a permanent venting system (not of the window type) to get the hot air out of the room. Found the perfect solution. Dave,Thanks for exchanging the 8" duct for a 7" so easily ...I am completely happy with the result. I had a tight space to get this hood installed and your unit finished it off perfectly. As so many others have said, the quality of the range hood ducts is unmatched in any store around here ...period. Money well spent for A-1 quality.
